For DoubleDay pilots, no two days are alike. We offer opportunities for both flight instructors and charter pilots. All our pilots represent DoubleDay Aviation and are responsible for providing not only a safe flight but also exceptional service to every client. Our pilots fly modern aircraft with the latest avionics, flying all types of people to destinations primarily around the southeast U.S. and beyond. Our policies and procedures ensure our pilots have the flexibility, support, and resources they need to elevate their flying careers and skills.

Tasks and Responsibilities
  • Responsible for the safe operation of the aircraft from taxi, take-off, and landing of each flight per FAA guidelines and DoubleDay Aviation Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Act as the final authority on their aircraft with respect to all areas of operation, including the compliance with all applicable safety and regulatory guidance
  • Greet clients or students, brief them on the flight/lesson, provide passengers with weather updates and safety briefings and explains any changes to the itinerary
  • Load and properly stow on aircraft all baggage as needed
  • Act as a liaison for clients/students and DoubleDay Aviation from the time they arrive at the FBO until they have safely landed at their final destination.
  • Properly communicate any abnormalities or discrepancies to DoubleDay Aviation maintenance.
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • At least 21 years of age
  • Read, write, fluently speak, and understand the English language
  • FAA Commercial (minimum), ATP (preferred)
  • FAA Certificated Flight Instructor—Instrument Airplane preferred
  • Current FAA Medical certificate (1st Class preferred)
  • Minimum flight experience:
    • 500 hours total flight time experience
    • 250 fixed-wing PIC
    • 200 hours cross-country flight time
    • 75 hours of night flying
    • 75 hours of instrument time (actual or simulated in-flight, excludes simulator time)
  • Valid State driver’s license
  • Valid passport and ability to travel internationally without restrictions
Capabilities
  • Ability to work varying hours, including day and night, weekdays, weekends
  • Flexible and demonstrated ability to adjust to rapid changes
  • Able to manage rest times in order to be prepared for flight duty
  • Service-oriented with a neat, well-groomed appearance and a demonstrated ability to make a positive impression with clients
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to make quick and accurate decisions while paying close attention to detail, both technically and from a client-service perspective
